Freshman year of college here at Yale University, I took a course entitled Climate and Society with professor Renzo Taddei. One of his major points was that climate data is often misunderstood (or simply not understood) by the public, partly because science writing is so unbelievably dense and full of jargon. I agree. Some science topics will never be the subject of common public enjoyment (e.g. debates over the correct classification of species within the hirudineans-- leeches and their relatives), but others can be made interesting and enjoyable for people of all science backgrounds. That is what I aim to do with my blog. Please let me know if I am successful!
